BECOME A SPEAKER at APATS 2024

We are now accepting presentation abstracts for the 20th annual Asia Pacific Airline Training Symposium - APATS 2024, which will take place Tuesday 10th - Wednesday 11th September, 2024 at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore.

APATS brings together the industry's leading experts from the airlines, ATOs, manufacturers, regulators and the wider training industry to promote safety and best practice in pilot, cabin crew and maintenance training.

We are now accepting presentation abstracts for four conference streams:

  • Pilot Training
  • Cabin Crew Training
  • Maintenance Technician Training
  • Ground Ops Training

The overall theme of APATS 2024 is:

Leading and Accelerating Training Improvement


Presentation proposals should address an aspect of aviation training and education in one or more of the following broad categories:


  • Airline stability and growth, including hiring, recurrent/retraining, overcoming skills decay and staffing shortages.
  • Training the next generation, including ATOs, diversity, funding, EBT/CBTA/AQP, KSA100/ABLE/MPL, and instructor standardisation.
  • Technology enablers, including FSTDs, AR/MR/VR/XR, Big Data/AI/Cloud/Metaverse.
  • Human factors and personnel readiness, including cognitive processes, mental health, biometrics/tracking sensors, situational awareness and UPRT.
  • Environmental sustainability regarding training.
  • Cabin crew training challenges and solutions, including unruly pax.
  • Maintenance technician training challenges and solutions.
  • Regulatory challenges and developments.
  • OEMs and Industry Association roles.
  • Air side ground operations personnel training challenges and solutions.


APATS 2024

To propose a presentation for any of the APATS conference streams, please CLICK HERE to complete the online form and provide the following documents, by Wednesday 28th February, 2024. 

Incomplete entries will not be considered.


  • 250-300 word abstract.
  • A recorded video, either of the speaker presenting the abstract or of a previous industry conference presentation.
  • A short biography of the speaker(s).
  • A photo of the speaker(s).


Presentations must fit into the APATS format, which is 15-18 minutes as 'delivered', followed by a Q&A period. 

APATS is an 'applied' conference and while full academic papers are not appropriate, we welcome summaries of appropriate aviation training and education research. Preference will be given to air carriers and training organisations with real-world training insights.
