Chinese simulation provider U-Wing Simulation is showcasing its VR based Diamond 42 simulator at the ongoing Singapore Airshow, in what is the company’s maiden show appearance. 

Speaking to CAT, a company official said the VR based Diamond DA 42 simulator, which makes use of a Varjo VR headset was receiving a good response from potential customers. The official said that the VR-based DA 42 simulator was more scalable, cost-effective and offered better training value. U-Wing is eyeing potential customers in Singapore for this simulator. 

U-Wing Simulation was earlier the first company to launch a fully-developed Diamond DA40 Level 5 Flight Training Devices (FTD) in China. It has also developed DA42 Level 5 FTDs and DA40/42 specific and convertible Level 5 FTDs. U-Wing has sold over 40 such simulators with customers in France, US and Thailand to name a few. 

U-wing Simulation also won a contract to supply the Civil Aviation Flight University of China with C172S FTDs in December 2023, with deliveries slated this year. The company also unveiled a Boeing B737NG Integrated Program Trainer (IPT) in October 2023.
