Firefly, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Malaysia Airlines, has placed an order with Mechtronix for a flat panel trainer (FPT) configured for the ATR 72-600 aircraft. The unit will be installed during the first quarter of 2014. The FPT uses the same software as the Mechtronix ATR 72-600 full flight simulator and is equipped with a rehost package for the Thales New Avionics Suite (NAS). Acquiring the FPT will let Firefly convert its pilots from the ATR 72-500s to the ATR 72-600s.

Europe’s Number One Civil Aviation Training Event EATS 2024 will be held on 5-7 November, 2024. It typically attracts 900 attendees from over 50 countries – all focused on best training practices. With over 48 hours of intense networking and information exchange with key representatives from the region’s airline training community, EATS is Europe’s largest aviation training event, designed by and for aviation professionals.
