Under a new multi-year contract, UFA, Inc. (UFA) is to provide Skyguide (Swiss Air Navigation Services Ltd), with its suite of air traffic control training solutions including ATCoach, ATTower, ATVoice and ATSpeak.
UFA’s solutions will replace Skyguide’s legacy simulators as the latter aims to reduce its operating costs and increase the performance of students, simulation pilots and instructors. UFA’s products will provide Skyguide with a data management system that can interface with its operational systems and be deployed on the company’s internal virtualised platforms for the delivery of operational and training systems.
Another part of the contract includes UFA’s ATCloud delivery system for simulation training over the Internet or company Intranet.
David Wolff, CEO of UFA, remarked, “We are extremely pleased to add Skyguide to our roster of FABEC members: DFS Deutsche Flugsicherung, German Air Force, Belgian Defense, LVNL (Netherlands), DSNA (France) and EUROCONTROL SESAR, all of whom have effectively deployed UFA products for controller training or ATM research. Skyguide will be able to leverage capabilities already provided to our current customers as it grows its civil and military training operations.”
FABEC stands for Functional Airspace Block Europe Central, which is an air navigation programme designed to co-ordinate and harmonise the air traffic management networks of six neighbouring states in Continental Europe - Belgium, France, Germany, Luxembourg, the Netherlands and Switzerland. FABEC covers 1.7 million square kilometres of airspace, including 240 airports and 14 Area Control Centres (ACCs).
