The Civil Aviation Safety Authority of Australia (CASA) has certified Ansett Aviation Training’s King Air simulator, which is convertible between the 350i and B200 variants, to Level D full flight simulator (FFS) standards.
The simulator was manufactured by TRU Simulation and Training and features Rockwell Collins’ Pro Line 21 avionics, TRU’s RealCue motion system and an advanced ADAS‐X digital audio system.
It is now located at Maroochydore Airport on the Sunshine Coast with Universal Training Systems (UTS), a partner facility of Ansett Aviation Training. It is available for both dry-hire and a full range of training courses for Beechcraft 350i aircraft and B200 models.
The certification represents the completion of a project to dually certify the simulator to both aircraft and support customers such as the Royal Flying Doctor Service – Queensland Section (RFDS) who operate both types. The RFDS supported Ansett Aviation Training and UTS by signing a long‐term contract as the launch customer on the simulator in mid‐2016.
Ansett Aviation Training’s CEO, David Garside, said, “The Beechcraft aircraft has a long and proud history in Australian aviation and is perfectly suited to Australian conditions. This simulator is another key step for operators, enabling them to have a complete training solution in the Australian market.”
The announcement comes after Ansett Aviation Training announced the development of a new three-bay simulator training centre in Brisbane, Australia, supported by the Government of the State of Queensland – Industry attraction fund.
