Join ASTi at the Asia Pacific Aviation Training Symposium

The Asia-Pacific region is leading the industry in the demand for and adoption of Simulated ATC Environment (SATCE) solutions from flight training to radio communications training, and global regulatory recognition is growing to match.

ASTi experts, Neil Waterman and Jeremy Goodman, will be on hand at APATS to discuss how industry leaders are actively employing SERA in commercial flight training and what expanding regulatory support means for operators in the region.

While SERA serves a broad range of training needs, its capabilities are especially applicable to ab initio and MPL cadet training.

The use of SATCE in flight training devices has been a requirement for MPL programs for nearly 20 years, but real-world adoption has only recently taken hold​. SERA places student pilots in a rich, realistic operational environment, introducing dynamic and interactive training events such as weather diversions, runway incursions, go-arounds, and altitude holds due to traffic. Students build ATC interaction skills across varying complexity levels, all from the safety of a flight simulator, eliminating the cost and risk of exposing trainees to live ATC in real aircraft.

Japan Airlines (JAL) recently became the first airline to adopt a SATCE solution for daily MPL use, integrating SERA into their MPL First Officer Program in partnership with CAE. The first class to train with SERA graduated with a zero percent failure rate.
