Netherlands-based Flame Aviation, a manufacturer of fire trainers for the civil aviation industry will deliver its latest model - the V10 Titan, in the first quarter of 2026. Speaking to CAT at the ongoing EATS 2025, Robin Pijnaker, Managing Director at Flame Aviation said the company began manufacture of the new V10 Titan in September this year, following the completion of engineering related activities. “The first V10 Titan will be ready in Q1 of 2026,” he said, adding that Flame Aviation started discussions with Emirates for the new fire trainer in November 2024 with a formal contract inked in July 2025.
Developed specifically for an Emirates requirement for a new fire trainer - the V10 Titan is an entirely new version which is larger and wider than Flame’s existing V7000 Brigade and the V9000 Commander. Emirates presently operates a classic generation fire trainer, which will be replaced by the V10 Titan.
The new V10 Titan is Flame’s flagship fire trainer and is well suited for major airlines operating both wide-body and narrow-body fleets. “The V10 Titan is designed for the top 30–40 airlines in the world — those seeking the highest-end training capabilities. We’re already in discussions with several airlines in the United States and the Middle East about this model.”
Some of the features requested by Emirates includes downward-opening luggage bins (instead of upward-opening ones), a wall fire simulation, additional seats and rows to mimic a wide-body cabin, fire escape path lighting, and mood lighting. Pijnaker explained that the addition of mood lighting is an important feature, as smoke behaves differently under various light conditions.
New sound effects have also been added such as ‘crackling flames, exploding batteries, and even cabin panic sounds.’ Simulated smells have also been added, to allow trainees to detect anomalies even before seeing smoke or flames.
Flame Aviation will be at the European Aviation Training Summit (EATS) in Cascais, Portugal, from 5- 6 November at booth 722 to share more about their training solutions.
