The Capita-led consortium – including Raytheon UK, Elbit Systems UK, Fujitsu, the University of Lincoln and several smaller British suppliers – will welcome more than 170 additional personnel to fulfil training services for Marine Engineering at HMS Sultan, home of the Royal Navy’s Marine Engineering Training Group and the Royal Naval Air Engineering and Survival School.

This follows the February announcement of the contract expansion under the Selborne programme, originally awarded in 2021. The initiative aims to modernize marine engineering training and improve the operational readiness of Royal Navy personnel. HMS Sultan, based in Gosport, will continue to serve as the central hub for this effort. Local MP Dame Caroline Dinenage praised the expansion for reinforcing the Royal Navy’s capability and contributing to the regional economy. This marks the 10th service transition managed under the 12-year, £1.3 billion Selborne contract.
