The U.S. Army’s Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI) and the Navy’s NAWCTSD are launching a joint simulation initiative in FY2026 aimed at enhancing maritime readiness and saving $10 million. The partnership will integrate the Army’s Maritime System Integration Lab with the Navy’s Navigation, Seamanship, and Ship Handling Trainer portfolio to create a shared training environment in Orlando, Florida.

This collaboration will eliminate redundancies, reduce infrastructure costs, and streamline simulator upgrades across services. By training Soldiers and Sailors on a unified software platform, the program supports more effective joint operations and rapid capability deployment.

Leaders from both branches emphasized the importance of innovation, cost-effectiveness, and operational efficiency. The lab will also support the Army’s Maritime and Intermodal Training Department at Fort Eustis, Virginia, offering faster and more robust solutions.
