Electro Optic Systems Holdings Limited (EOS) has secured a €71.4 million (approximately A$125 million) order from a European NATO member for a 100kW high energy laser weapon system. The contract covers production, delivery, spare parts, training, and documentation between 2025 and 2028, with work taking place in Singapore.

The mobile system, designed for truck deployment, includes algorithms, threat detection, target acquisition, and beam locking technology, and will be integrated into a multi-layered air defence network. EOS developed the capability to counter drone swarm attacks at lower operational costs.

EOS CEO Dr Andreas Schwer described the system as the world’s first export order for a 100kW-class laser defence platform, highlighting its speed, accuracy, and cost efficiency. The company will present the technology at the DSEI 2025 Defence Exhibition in London this September.
