The Indian Army and Singapore Army recently trained together bilateral armor exercise Bold Kurukshetra at Jodhpur Cantonment, India.

Ex Bold Kurukshetra is the flagship bilateral exercise between the two armies and first took place in 2005.

The exercises featured the participation of the 42 Singapore Armoured Regiment of the 4 Singapore Armoured Brigade and the Indian Army’s 340th (Independent) Mechanised Brigade and 1st Mechanised Infantry (I MADRAS).

“Our troops were able to engage in rigorous map planning, shared tactics, techniques, and procedures, and most importantly, learned from one another in a meaningful and constructive way. Our soldiers greatly appreciated the sharing from their counterparts in the Indian Army,” said the SAF’s Deputy Chief Armor Officer, Colonel Andy Quek.

The weeklong training event featured joint training, table top exercise, tactical discussions and a computer-based wargame, which were aimed at validating operational procedures for mechanized warfare.
