The U.S. Navy met its Fiscal Year 2025 recruiting goal on June 18, securing contracts for 40,600 future Sailors—three months before the fiscal year ends. This early milestone reflects a sharp increase in recruiting since November and builds on momentum from 2024, when the Navy surpassed its target with 40,978 contracts, the highest total since 2002.
Navy officials credited recent success to targeted reforms, including the establishment of a Recruiting Operations Center for real-time data tracking, improved processing of medical waivers, and the launch of the Future Sailor Preparatory Course. These changes aimed to improve efficiency and remove barriers for recruiters.
Meeting the target early gives the Navy additional time to match recruits with career paths and fleet needs.
