Royal Malaysian Air Force (Tentera Udara Diraja Malaysia) is preparing for the induction of its Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) Anka Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), early next year.
Earlier this month, the RMAF announced that seven officers and 19 technicians had successfully completed an O-Level Maintenance Course on the Turkish MALE UAS, that was carried out in Ankara, Türkiye by TUSAS.
“This course aims to prepare TUDM engineers and technicians in carrying out O-Level maintenance of UAS ANKA aircraft that will be owned by the Royal Malaysian Air Force (TUDM) early next year,” the RMAF stated on its Facebook page.
The training course conducted from 30 June to 15 August, covered covering three modules: Mechanical & Engine Systems, Avionics Systems and Ground Control Systems.
Malaysia had inked a contract with TUSAS for three Anka MALE UAS in May 2023 at the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace exhibition. The first of these is slated for delivery in first quarter 2026.
