From April 28-May 8, the Georgian Defense Forces completed Exercise NATO-GEO 2025. This triennial event was led by SHAPE training a Georgian Brigade in order to further develop NATO interoperability and contribute to regional stability. It was supported by several NATO countries, including Italy, Germany, United States, Canada, U.K. and a team from Applied Training Solutions (ATS).
During the preparatory phase of the exercise, Team ATS provided a brief on the various simulations used and how they would integrate with the event to assist in meeting Commander’s Training Objectives. In the execution stage, Team ATS was able to successfully link Virtual and Constructive simulations to the Georgian Mission Command tool (Harris HC2).
The integration of simulations with mission command was the first time that the defense forces of Georgia had this capability. The new capability enabled automation, therefore less personnel were needed to provide manual entry into HC2. This capability greatly increased the training value of the simulations, and its use would not have been possible without Team ATS. ATS provided subject matter expertise on the technical linking of simulations and mission command with a third-party gateway tool and provided troubleshooting during the preparatory Communications Exercise (COMMEX).
