ST Engineering has won the multi-agency Defence Technology Prize 2025 (Engineering) Award for its contributions to training and simulation at SAFTI City, a next-generation 100,000-square-metre smart military training facility in Singapore. The company provided the technological backbone for SAFTI City, including realistic training simulations and a purpose-built exercise control system to manage targets and battlefield effects.

In addition, ST Engineering designed and implemented the Mission Analytics and Review System (MARS), a tool that allows trainers to review exercise manoeuvres and uses data analytics to provide evidence-based feedback. The company integrated communication systems, sensors, and other technologies across the facility, enabling real-time data collection during training exercises. ST Engineering also supplied the LTE-band Universal Controller, which ensured seamless communication and synchronisation between the exercise control system, targets, battlefield effects, and training personnel.

ST Engineering’s contributions enabled trainers to remotely control targets and battlefield effects while tracking metrics such as drill completion time and shooting accuracy for both individual soldiers and teams. The integrated systems at SAFTI City provided a comprehensive platform for reviewing and assessing training performance, enhancing operational readiness and decision-making.
