Varjo and Norwegian training solutions developer Fynd Reality are delivering immersive virtual training to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, addressing a critical gap caused by limited access to physical vehicles during active operations.

The programme uses Varjo XR-4 Secure Edition headsets integrated with Fynd Reality's CORE XR platform, covering familiarisation, procedural, and maintenance training across multiple vehicles. Thirty-nine XR systems have been delivered in the first rollout through Norway's Nansen Program, under contract with the Norwegian Defense Material Agency (NDMA). The total project value is NOK 82.5 million (approximately €7.2 million).

Following deployment, Ukrainian partners will develop training content locally to build long-term capability within their forces.

"XR training is solving a real operational challenge in Ukraine, where access to vehicles and safe training environments is severely limited," said Timo Toikkanen, CEO of Varjo. "Together with Fynd Reality, we can actively help accelerate and scale training for Ukrainian soldiers heading to the front lines."
