Halldale Correspondent Atul Chandra caught up with Cedric Paillard, CEO of the Airline Pilot Club, during APATS 2025 in Singapore to explore how artificial intelligence is transforming aviation training.

Cedric led a three-hour workshop at the event, focusing on the integration of AI into Evidence-Based Training (EBT) and Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA).

He emphasised that AI is a tool, not a replacement, and its value lies in targeted, high-impact applications.

Cedric shared examples such as instructor calibration, where AI can analyse audio and video data to improve consistency and outcomes. He also introduced Orca, a new product launched at APATS, designed to help organisations harness AI for training analysis and improvement.

Cedric will continue this conversation at EATS 2025 in Cascais, Portugal, where he’ll lead another in-depth workshop on AI integration in aviation.

His insights offer a practical roadmap for training leaders looking to adopt data-driven strategies and improve operational efficiency. Make sure you are part of the conversation in Cascais.
