Innovaacom, a leading provider of medical education and training for healthcare professionals worldwide, today announced it is expanding its curriculum in 2016 to include continuing education programs for advanced nurses and nurse researchers. The decision follows the successful fourth quarter pilot of the program that educates nurses in how to prepare and develop effective research abstracts for medical conferences and trade journal publication. The courses, which piloted in the United Kingdom, were attended by advanced nurses who are studying various aspects of illness to improve health care outcomes and services.
“We are excited to continue to grow our reach by offering professional development courses that are exclusively designed for nurses and that will help keep their practices aligned with the best available scientific evidence,” shared Innovaacom President Ornella Vincenzino. Of all abstracts written by nurses, only 18% are subsequently published according to a 2015 study by Wiley Periodicals which concludes the trend may be hindering the translation of key findings into clinical practice.
