BlueRoom Adds Search and Rescue Training Module

BlueRoom Simulations has launched its Search and Rescue module, training aircrew in operating an EO/IR camera and searchlight using the real controller inside simulated missions. The module was developed with Trakka Systems.

Camera and searchlight training has traditionally required a real camera fitted to a real aircraft, making training time scarce and dependent on aircraft access, pilot availability, weather, and engineering, according to the company. By integrating Trakka's controller with the BlueRoom Mixed Reality Simulator, aircrew can fly repeatable, instructor-controlled SAR scenarios on any airframe.

The BlueRoom Mixed Reality Aeromedical Simulator has addressed this problem for aeromedical crews for over three years; the SAR module extends that capability to other aircrew duties.
