Kongsberg Maritime has received a DNV Simulator Statement of Compliance for a new Engine Room Simulator (ERS) model based on the Höegh Aurora (CO₂ Pilot), a vessel in Höegh Autoliners' Aurora Class. The approval followed a full demonstration and audit by DNV, confirming the model meets DNV's maritime simulator requirements.

The Aurora Class vessels feature multi-fuel capability, readiness for zero-carbon fuels including ammonia, and capacity for up to 9,100 vehicles. Höegh Autoliners has set a target of net-zero emissions by 2040.

"Independent verification from DNV demonstrates the accuracy and quality of our simulator models," said Are Føllesdal Tjønn, Managing Director Maritime Simulation, Kongsberg Maritime. "At the same time, it strengthens our ability to support customers as they introduce new vessel designs and transition to more sustainable operations."

Kongsberg Maritime's technology on the Aurora Class includes automation, propulsion optimisation, and digital solutions. The simulator extends that capability to crew training ahead of vessel operations.

The Höegh Aurora ERS model is now part of Kongsberg Maritime's standard simulator offering.
