A new CATCH Training Facility for renewable energy and industrial decarbonisation has been approved for Stallingborough, Northeast Lincolnshire. Backed by Drax Group, Harbour Energy, and Viking CCS, the center aims to train 1,000 apprentices annually by 2030.

Opening in early 2026, the site will include classrooms, workshops, and AR/VR-enabled spaces to prepare technicians and operators for careers in the green economy. CATCH CEO David Talbot said the facility will offer hands-on training aligned with industry needs.

Leaders from Humber Freeport and the Humber Energy Board said the initiative is key to building a skilled workforce for the UK’s largest decarbonisation opportunity. The facility is expected to become a regional hub for clean energy talent and innovation.
