Saipem opened a Drilling Training Centre focused on drilling operations and well-control training. The facility includes a full-scale drilling simulator used to support both theoretical instruction and practical exercises. The simulator uses a multi-screen display and rig-equivalent control interfaces to reproduce operational scenarios similar to those encountered on active drilling rigs.
The simulator can model geological conditions and offshore drilling operations, including deep-water scenarios. The centre is accredited by the International Well Control Forum and delivers well-control training and certification for drilling personnel. Training is conducted by instructors with industry experience, and courses may also be delivered at operational sites when required.
