UCRH added Geri-Anne, a high-fidelity aged care patient simulator, to its Simulation Centre with support from a University of Sydney grant.

The modular manikin helps allied health students on rural placements practise geriatric care before entering residential aged care, hospitals, or community settings. It can simulate complex conditions, including strokes, and features realistic aged skin, dental and eye conditions, male and female anatomy, and a grey hair wig.

Geri-Anne will be used in tutorials, assessments, and interprofessional training across multiple disciplines and supports UCRH’s RHMT Aged Care Expansion program, enhancing rural placement learning.
