Pakistan’s technology sector is positioning itself to enter the global market for extended reality (XR) safety training.

Using virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR), these solutions simulate hazardous environments, enabling safe, immersive, and effective training for industries such as manufacturing, oil and gas, and construction.

Faisal Majeed, CEO of WorkSafePlace AI, highlighted significant gains in skill retention and emergency response times through repeated virtual practice. AR-enabled inspections and VR-based ergonomic assessments also help identify risks before accidents occur. Competitive development costs, growing tech expertise, and support from incubators provide fertile ground for XR startups. Karachi-based firms are already prototyping industry-specific training modules.

As global demand for XR solutions grows, Pakistan aims to leverage its EHS expertise and advanced tools to secure a share of the expanding international market.
