In Lviv, Ukraine, a new virtual reality simulator has been developed to train mobile fire groups (MFGs) in safely countering drone threats. Created by Andriy Koziy, a fighter with Volunteer Formation No. 2 “LEV,” and Oleg Kravets, director of LION AI SOFT, the system simulates enemy drone flights and enables users to train under various weather and terrain conditions.

Initially envisioned as a general training tool, the simulator was later adapted to MFG needs, focusing on preemptive shooting and reaction time. The system currently supports shooting with AK-74 rifles and Stinger systems, with plans for future weapon integrations, including thermal sights.

Instructors can control scenarios, track performance, and guide trainees through realistic air defense exercises. The simulator’s price ranges from $25,000 to $45,000, offering a safer, cost-effective way to prepare recruits for real-world engagements.
