The pilot on board campaign was led by Joby Chief Test Pilot James Denham and was designed to gather data on the aircraft’s handling qualities and pilot control interfaces, supporting the development of the aircraft and laying the groundwork for future credit testing as part of the certification program with the Federal Aviation Administration.
The project for the first electric aircraft charging station on a U.S. military instillation has officially broken ground, with a completion date in early October.
In partnership with the U.S. Air Force, NASA will also use the aircraft for research focused on how these aircraft could fit into the national airspace, benefiting the entire air taxi industry.
