The new owners of 43 Air School, Africa’s leading aviation training organisation, have bought shares in pilot trainers PTC Aviation.

No financial terms were revealed in the announcement of the deal for PTC Aviation, who employ more than 30 staff and provide training for three South African low-cost airlines in simulators at its Port Elizabeth facility.

“43 Air School’s acquisition in PTC provides a major growth opportunity for both our businesses and extends the services we offer to our clients," said Wayne Westoby, training director and shareholder in PTC Aviation.

The move follows a change in ownership at 43 Air School in July. The South African company were sold by National Airways Corporation to a consortium led by 43 Air School's management.

Established in 1998, 43 Air School is headed by CEO Attie Niemann and trains pilots at sites in Port Alfred, Port Elizabeth and Johannesburg. It has plans to expand and open another facility in Portugal.
