DCI opens new building at international training center in Southern France

Défense Conseil International (DCI) is opening a renovated accommodation building at its International Academic and Aeronautical Training Centre (CIF-AA). This higher capacity building will allow a higher number of foreign student officers to attend training at CIF-AA in Salon-de-Provence.

“We are very proud to provide France's partner countries with the most recent and efficient accommodation and training facilities, and thus contribute to conveying the French Air Force's image of excellence and modernity. We have welcomed thirty international students in September and we expect demand to be high in the years ahead,” said Jean-Michel Palagos, Chairman and CEO of DCI.

DCI, reference operator for France’s ministry of Armed Forces for the international transfer of French military know-how, modernized the facility, including 122 single bedrooms, as part of the long-term partnership with the Air Force Academy at the air base 701.

This is another portion in a larger project to reinforce the training capacity at the air force academy. Renovated in 2016, the training building features ten New Generation classrooms and four language labs. Investments in an engine simulator bench and a drone simulator complete the project.

“Providing vacant buildings under temporary occupancy permits has more than one advantage: it does not take up Air Force Academy resources while maintaining and enhancing national property,” said Palagos.
