Saab Grintek Defence wins SA Premier Business Awards

Saab Grintek Defence received the Exporter and Enterprise Development Awards at the sixth annual South African Premier Business Awards.

The SA Premier Business Awards acknowledges businessexcellence in South Africa and is organised by the Department of Trade andIndustry (DTI), in partnership with Proudly South Africa and Brand SouthAfrica.

Accepting the award was Saab Grintek Defence’s President,Trevor Raman, and Deputy President, Evelyn Motsatsing, who emphasised that itwas an honour to once again win the Exporter Award (having won it in 2013/2014and 2016/2017), and to receive the Enterprise Development Award as recognitionfor the organisation’s continued focus on skills development initiatives andtransformation strategies.

The Exporter Award recognises all export industry sectors,from services to manufacturing, and encourages other South African companies toparticipate in international business development and markets. It alsohighlights South African enterprises that invest in both human and technicalresources in various projects or activities; produce quality products andservices; and remain locally and internationally competitive.

The Enterprise Development Award celebrates companies thatprocure from small, medium and micro enterprise, in particular black- andwomen-owned enterprises. The organisation’s investment in enterprisedevelopment initiatives is unique to the defence industry, investing time,skills and resources to enhance the vision of transformation through highlystrategic enterprise and supplier development programmes, industry-relevantsocio-economic initiatives in the Tshwane area, and the extensive and sustainedtraining and skills development of employees.
