Engineering & Computer Simulations (ECS) is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a high-technology vision for the future and a renewed focus on making a difference for its clients, partners, community, and team members.  

Founded in 1997 by Waymon Armstrong, a visionary in the Central Florida modeling, simulation, and training (MS&T) industry, ECS has grown from a few dedicated employees that waited three years to land their first client to a global team of more than 100 team members in three offices who have earned a reputation for delivering innovative global technology and training solutions to government and industry clients in the defense and government, aerospace, aviation, and healthcare sectors.

Armstrong, CEO of ECS explains: “Launching ECS was far more challenging than originally anticipated. I couldn’t even imagine making it to 25 years when we first started. But now, as we look back, it’s not necessarily what we did or why we did it, it’s who we did it for and with. We have been extremely blessed to work with people who believed in us and trusted that we would do the right thing. It’s the people who have made the difference. They took a chance on us; we learned so much. Thank you to our extended ECS family for believing in us. We wouldn’t be here without you.”

ECS is dedicated to maintaining, sustaining, and training our military, frontline workers, and industry clients by providing immersive, live, and virtual training experiences and by augmenting the expert workforce. Notable projects include Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TC3Sim), CH-47F Block II Cargo Helicopter Immersive Aviation Training Suite (PM Cargo), Advanced Haptics Development to Support Medical Simulated Training Environments, Veterans Affairs Virtual Medical Center (VA-VMC), Enterprise Training Services Contract (ETSC), and more. ECS has also implemented the processes and standards to ensure quality, resulting in certification for Capability Maturity Model Integration Maturity Level 3.  

Mick Golson, ECS president, states: “Waymon started ECS because he recognized the need to improve training accuracy and efficiencies. Since 1997, our team has adapted and elevated disruptive and evolving technologies to deliver groundbreaking solutions for our clients with a goal of enhancing learning while reducing the cost of training. I think it’s tough to stay in business for 25 years, but we have done it through collaboration and by positioning ourselves as an innovator in the MS&T community. We are proud of our history, and we’re motivated about our future.”
