More than 230 students from 12 further education colleges have joined Skyborne at Gloucestershire Airport for the academy’s first Cabin Crew Futures event. Skyborne opened its doors to airline speakers from easyJet and British Airways, enabling young people to ask questions about a cabin crew career.

The college students were also able to take advantage of seminars and hands-on workshops that included syllabus topics from City & Guilds, NCFE and BTEC qualifications. The demand for cabin crew has hit an all-time high in the UK; the aim of this event was to encourage and inspire the next generation by providing a free event for those with a passion for aviation.

Establishments in attendance included: Merthy College, Q3 Academy Tipton, Coventry College, Dudley College of Technology, Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group, Gloucestershire College, Coleg y Cymoedd, Herefordshire and Ludlow College, Gordons School, Stanstead Airport College, Island, Vlform College and Cirencester College.

Due to the success of their first Cabin Crew Futures day, Skyborne is looking to hold a similar event later this year.
