Simformotion LLC has released the new Cat Simulators Backhoe Loader System, which trains construction operators safely and efficiently.

Set in a construction environment, the system teaches students and operators how to work a Backhoe Loader (BHL) from the machine inspection to driving, braking, trenching, lifting and much more. Correct operation leads to increased safety, production and cost savings. Simulation is a safe alternative to using actual machines for heavy equipment operator training. Learners can train anytime and anywhere using simulators — no need to take a costly machine out of production, worry about weather, or most importantly, worry about the safety of the operator.

“The new Backhoe Loader simulator rounds out the family of construction models in the Cat Simulators line. It’s a versatile machine and our team has worked closely with the operator

experts at Caterpillar to develop every exercise. No matter where your worksite is in the world, if you train on a Cat Simulators system, you can be assured that your students and operators are learning the same techniques as other Cat operators,” says Renee Gorrell, Vice President of Simformotion.

The BHL operator training simulator is available in multiple languages and includes a method to record and report the results of simulation sessions, comparing the performance to Caterpillar benchmarks. It features authentic Cat controls, motion system, walkaround training and an available curriculum.

In addition, a virtual reality (VR) edition can be added. With the VR headset, users experience a larger view of the environment with greater depth perception. The simulator is portable and easy to move from a classroom to a trailer, and the simulators can convert from one model to another using the same base unit.
