Spatial has been selected by Flywings Simulator Training Centre (FWSTC) to manufacture an A321 mid-cabin exit trainer.
The simulator will incorporate a Type C door and A321NX ACF overwing exit and enable the comprehensive training of cabin crew in the safe operation of the doors in all normal and potential emergency situations onboard A321 aircraft.
An intuitive Instructor Operator Station (IOS) will enable the simulation of any malfunction situation by the trainer including power assist failures, handle and door jams and slide auto-inflation failures. Designed and built to withstand the rigours of high volume training, the device will include door visual simulations, passenger service units and drop-down oxygen masks.
The device will be delivered to FWSTC within three months. Based in Gurugram, FWSTC is one of India's major providers of training services to airline pilots and cabin crew in the region.
Vikas Khanna, head of Operations at FWSTC said: "This is the first A321 mid-cabin door training device in India and complements FWSTC's existing two A320 trainers, including an A320 cabin emergency evacuation trainer manufactured by Spatial."
