CAE is expanding CAE Ridge, its 3D visualization tool, to support its Air Traffic Services training programs. The update was shared during Airspace Asia Pacific 2025 in Hong Kong. The tool is currently used in military applications and is now being applied to both civil and defence controller training.

CAE Ridge introduces immersive tabletop scenarios designed to strengthen decision-making and support early-stage learning for air traffic controllers. The solution provides a three-dimensional environment that helps trainees build mental models of airspace structures, airport layouts, and traffic patterns before advancing to high-fidelity simulators or on-the-job training.

As airspace complexity increases, CAE Ridge is designed to support Air Navigation Service Providers and training organizations adapting to operational demands. The tool enables instructors and trainees to rehearse procedures collaboratively, explore scenarios, and conduct debriefs in a flexible environment suited for classroom or remote training.

“Our goal is to help ANSPs and training organizations adapt to a rapidly evolving operational landscape,” added Marie-Christine Cloutier, Vice President, Strategy, Business Performance & Marketing, CAE. “CAE Ridge exemplifies the potential of dual-use technologies, and demonstrates how we can combine decades of simulation expertise and immersive synthetic environments to deliver scalable, commercially accessible tools that empower both instructors and learners.”

CAE Ridge also supports Competency-Based Training and Assessment scenario development, preparation activities, and operational reviews, offering a multi-use platform for controller training pipelines.
