Cockpit Explain has launched an AI-based cockpit assistant designed for use with Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, providing real-time avionics guidance to simulator users.
The tool allows users to upload cockpit screenshots or submit direct questions, with the system delivering step-by-step explanations of aircraft systems in real time across different phases of flight.
Users can upload cockpit images or input questions to receive immediate, structured feedback without additional setup. The platform is intended to simplify access to system knowledge, particularly as simulator aircraft become more complex.
Cockpit Explain was created by a pilot with over 30 years of cockpit experience and a lifelong Microsoft Flight Simulator user. The guidance is grounded in real flight training principles and adapted specifically for sim pilots of all levels, from beginners learning their first cockpit to experienced users flying complex aircraft.
For the aviation training community, the tool reflects a growing shift toward integrating AI-assisted learning into simulation-based environments. As desktop simulators such as Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 introduce more advanced avionics and systems modeling, tools that provide real-time, contextual instruction may support self-paced learning and reinforce formal training programs.
The platform can be applied across general aviation aircraft, business jets, and airliners, offering an additional layer of support for users building procedural knowledge and cockpit familiarity outside of full-flight simulator environments.
