Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA), Joby Aviation, and Skyports Infrastructure have partnered to launch an electric air taxi service in Ras Al Khaimah by 2027. The service will include an inter-emirate corridor connecting Dubai to key developments in RAK, including Al Marjan Island and Jebel Jais.
The partnership combines Joby’s eVTOL aircraft, Skyports’ vertiport infrastructure expertise, and RAKTA’s regulatory support. The initiative aligns with Ras Al Khaimah’s 2030 Mobility Master Plan, aiming to provide faster, quieter, and zero-emission transport options for residents and visitors.
Travel times between Dubai International Airport and Al Marjan Island are expected to drop from over an hour by car to under 15 minutes. Joby’s aircraft is designed to carry one pilot and up to four passengers. The collaboration builds on Joby’s ongoing flight testing and engagement in the UAE, supporting a broader expansion of air mobility services in the region.
