MPS has been awarded a contract by Copa Airlines for an additional B737-8 MAX level 5 FTD with an RSI visual system and Simthetiq Image Generator. The simulator on order is expected to be installed Q4 of 2026 at Copa's training center in Panama City, Panama. Copa Airlines already utilizes an MPS MAX device for its initial type rating and recurrent training. The additional simulator on order will serve the same purpose.
Copa Airlines operates from Panama. As the airline continues to expand its operations, its MAX fleet also continues to increase. Copa will have 51 MAX aircraft delivered in the next 4 years, leading to a need to increase training capacity. The expanded partnership between Copa Airlines and MPS aims to address this growing demand.
"This second MPS simulator will provide additional capacity for comprehensive and high-fidelity training, ensuring that Copa Airlines pilots meet and exceed all regulatory requirements and company expectations," said MPS Chief Executive Officer Philip Adrian. "Due to their extensive capabilities, both MPS devices can also be used in the training of aspiring Copa Airlines pilots during their qualification phases, such as for jet familiarity, Multi Crew Cooperation (MCC), and instrument competency training."
