REISER Simulation and Training GmbH announced at the European Rotors Show that it will join forces with Leonardo to co-develop a new-generation AW139 helicopter Flight Training Device (FTD) Level 3 simulator tailored to civil-market requirements. The collaboration addresses the specific needs of operators seeking high-fidelity training solutions without the additional costs of higher-level simulators, according to the company.

As part of the initiative, REISER signed a Memorandum of Understanding with HeliOperations in the UK to deliver one of these systems. The simulators will combine Leonardo’s OEM-grade simulation fidelity with REISER’s technology to provide realistic training environments for civil operators managing small to mid-sized fleets.

The Level 3 simulators are intended to support in-house training capabilities, enhance flight safety, and improve operational readiness with lower upfront investment compared to other simulation standards.

Delivery timelines and further technical details will be announced as development progresses.
