CAE Joint Venture Expands A220 Simulator Training

Flight Training Alliance (FTA), a joint venture between Lufthansa Aviation Training (LAT) and CAE, is collaborating with Airbus to establish an Airbus A220 training capability in Singapore. As part of the agreement, a new CAE 7000XR full-flight simulator will be deployed at the Airbus Asia Training Centre (AATC) in Singapore in 2027.

The deployment marks FTA's first Airbus A220 training expansion into Asia-Pacific, supporting the region's growing demand for pilot training. The simulator will provide A220 airline operators with training closer to where demand is emerging, supporting the entry into service of their aircraft.

Through the partnership, FTA will deploy the full-flight simulator, while AATC will manage operations and training delivery. The capability will support operators across Asia-Pacific, one of the fastest-growing aviation markets.

FTA has been supporting Airbus A220 operators through its existing training operations in Frankfurt, Zurich and Rome. That expertise will now extend to Asia-Pacific to help meet increasing industry demand and support the development of a skilled pilot workforce.
