UWing Simulation has secured a contract to deliver two Cirrus SR20 Level 5 Flight Training Devices (FTDs) to the Luoyang College of the Civil Aviation Flight University of China (CAFUC). The simulators are intended to support CAFUC’s flight training program by expanding training capacity at its Luoyang campus, the university’s only facility outside Sichuan Province.

CAFUC is internationally recognized for its role in training civil aviation pilots and logs over 400,000 flight training hours annually, accounting for more than one-third of China’s general aviation flight time. Its Luoyang College has accumulated 1.43 million training hours, completed over 3 million takeoffs and landings, and trained more than 14,000 aviation professionals. In August 2023, the college marked its 60th consecutive annual safety milestone.

The SR20 FTDs being supplied by UWing Simulation are compliant with CAAC’s Level 5 standards under CCAR-60-R1 regulations. They include a cockpit modeled after the actual aircraft’s butterfly door design, three 4K laser projectors for higher brightness and clarity, a 200° horizontal by 40° vertical field-of-view with seamless visual blending, and a proprietary visual system featuring customizable global airport and city databases. A semi-enclosed instructor station provides increased privacy, comfort, and easier maintenance access.

UWing Simulation is currently the only manufacturer in China capable of independently producing CAAC Level 5-certified SR20 FTDs, according to the company. Since its first delivery in 2019, the company has provided devices to multiple training institutions, including Beidahuang General Aviation and AVIC Flight School. All units have maintained operational stability and training reliability in use.
