The German Aerospace Center (DLR) and Diehl Aviation, have signed an open-ended agreement to collaborate on research and development for civil aviation technologies. The partnership focuses on areas such as aircraft systems, avionics, cabin innovations, and on-board supply technologies.

The collaboration will also explore new design and verification methods, particularly in simulation-based approval processes. Additionally, DLR and Diehl plan to create project formats that accelerate the transition from research to practical application.

Executives from both organisations highlighted the long-standing cooperation between DLR and Diehl in the aviation and security sectors. The new agreement aims to support advancements in sustainable aviation, smart cabin architecture, and the digitisation of development and certification workflows.

This partnership will serve as a framework for future projects addressing evolving challenges in the aviation industry.
