VoltAero has signed an agreement with HM Aerospace, Malaysia’s flight training academy, for 15 Cassio 330 electric-hybrid aircraft with an option for 15 more. The aircraft will be introduced after certification by EASA and validation by Malaysia’s civil aviation authority.

The agreement marks VoltAero’s expansion into the pilot training sector in the Asia-Pacific region. The partnership also initiates a broader relationship with the Halim Mazmin Group, aimed at establishing a supporting ecosystem for electric-hybrid aviation in Malaysia.

VoltAero CEO Jean Botti and Halim Mazmin Group Founding Director Tan Sri Halim Mohammad participated in the signing ceremony, which was witnessed by Alain Rousset, president of France’s Nouvelle-Aquitaine region.

HM Aerospace, established 20 years ago, has trained around 2,400 pilots and will incorporate the Cassio 330 into its training programs. The aircraft’s electric-hybrid system combines two “pusher” electric motors and a thermal engine that recharges onboard batteries during flight. It operates using all-electric power during taxi, takeoff, and climb, providing quieter, more environmentally efficient performance.
