AeroGuard Flight Training Center has graduated the first Air New Zealand cadets under the airline’s Mangōpare Pilot Cadetship. The program is designed to provide aspiring aviators with a structured pathway into professional airline careers.
Since 2024, AeroGuard has partnered with Air New Zealand, hosting five cadet cohorts at its Phoenix, Arizona campus. Participants complete initial training through the Commercial Multi Engine license with Instrument Rating before advancing to Dubai for Type Rating and Multi Crew Cooperation with Ansett Aviation Training.
The first group of cadets completed initial training in under 12 months and are preparing to continue advanced instruction with Ansett Aviation Training. Additional Air New Zealand cadets remain in training at AeroGuard, while others will follow this initial group through the program. Alongside Air New Zealand, AeroGuard also trains cadets from Cathay Pacific, China Airlines, and Air India.
