FL Technics has agreed to acquire Czech MRO provider JOB AIR Technic a.s., pending closing conditions and statutory approvals. The acquisition includes a 17,000-square-meter maintenance facility at Leoš Janáček Airport Ostrava in the Czech Republic, expanding FL Technics’ capacity in Central Europe.
Founded in 1993, JOB AIR Technic employs over 400 specialists and offers base maintenance in two hangars with eight bays for narrow-body and wide-body aircraft. The company also operates a Part 147 maintenance training centre, delivering services in avionics, structural repairs, composite work, emergency equipment servicing, non-destructive testing, and interior refurbishment.
The facility supports maintenance for Airbus A320 (including A320NEO) and A330 families, and Boeing 737 NG and MAX aircraft. JOB AIR holds approvals from multiple civil aviation authorities, including EASA, FAA, Transport Canada, and Bermuda CAA, allowing work on aircraft from diverse jurisdictions.
“JOB AIR adds significant capacity to our group network and services portfolio,” said Zilvinas Lapinskas, CEO of FL Technics. “It enables us to immediately serve our clients with eight fully operational aircraft maintenance bays, eliminating a few years typically required for construction and certification. This acquisition also introduces us to an established client roster, while the strategic geographical location enables coverage of all Europe, North Africa, and Turkey within a three-four-hour flight radius.”
FL Technics’ acquisition adds to its network of hangars in the UK, Indonesia, Lithuania, and a planned facility in the Dominican Republic. The Czech site’s location near the Polish and Slovak borders also leverages Leoš Janáček Airport Ostrava’s role as a cargo and passenger hub.The company’s parent, Avia Solutions Group, has pursued growth through recent acquisitions, including UK airline Ascend Airways, Slovakia’s AirExplore, and Australia’s Skytrans.
