IFA Academy has expanded its simulator fleet with the addition of an ALSIM AL250 at its Viseu base in Portugal. The simulator supports initial phase training for PPL, CPL, and IR/ME licenses and is certified as an EASA FNPT II. It features a reconfigurable SEP/MEP platform with both analog and glass cockpit configurations.

The AL250 replicates the flight characteristics of three aircraft types—the Cessna 172, Piper PA28R Arrow, and Piper PA44—offering students exposure to a variety of operational scenarios. Over 100 AL250 units have been installed globally.

José Madeira, CEO of IFA Group, stated, “We selected the ALSIM AL250 for its advanced capabilities and EASA FNPT II certification, recognizing it as a powerful tool for enhancing pilot proficiency, particularly in instrument flight training."

"This simulator will deliver a fully immersive and highly realistic experience, replicating the flight characteristics of three aircraft types: the Cessna 172, Piper PA28R Arrow, and Piper PA44. Its flexibility in offering both analog and EFIS (Electronic Flight Instrument System) cockpit configurations will also allow our students to seamlessly adapt to diverse flight scenarios and operational standards.

The addition of the AL250 expands IFA Academy’s simulation capabilities, complementing its existing ALSIM FNPT II device. Together, the two simulators support a broad range of training needs.

The addition reinforces IFA Academy’s efforts to enhance its simulator-based training environment in line with European regulatory standards.
