airBaltic announced a new pilot offer, effective January 1, 2026, aimed at improving conditions for current pilots and attracting future candidates. The updated package includes expanded roster options and a revised salary structure, developed based on pilot feedback and market insights.
Robbert Strating, SVP Flight Operations at airBaltic, said: “With this new offer, we are raising the standard for how an airline supports its pilots throughout their careers. The package provides not only competitive conditions but also a clear commitment to long-term career satisfaction at airBaltic. For the first time, we will introduce a commuting roster, giving pilots the opportunity to operate one of the youngest fleets in Europe – our Airbus A220-300 aircraft – without the need to relocate to one of airBaltic’s home bases.”
A central element of the offer is the commuting roster, enabling foreign pilots to work without relocation. Additional changes include flexible roster options, a competitive salary structure with predictable increases, and a progression system for Captains with 10 salary levels and guaranteed advancement.
The new conditions apply to both current and new pilots from January 2026. airBaltic continues to recruit Captains and Senior First Officers for its Airbus A220-300 fleet and accepts applications for its Pilot Academy, which currently trains 174 students. By strengthening career pathways, the new offer is expected to encourage more future pilots to train with the airline.
