ALSIM announced that Fujairah Aviation Academy became the first operator of the Airliner simulator in the Middle East. The academy also acquired an AL172, expanding its training capabilities with additional fixed-wing simulation resources.
The Airliner is an FNPT II MCC–certified hybrid simulator combining fly-by-wire and conventional controls. It supports APS MCC and MPL Phase II training and is designed around APS MCC objectives. The device focuses on developing airline competencies that include automation management, crew coordination, leadership, and threat and error management. Its generic airliner layout allows broad skill transfer and helps trainees prepare for airline operations and transition to various type ratings.
The AL172 is a replica of the Cessna 172SP Skyhawk featuring a Garmin G1000 NXI, the latest VFR-VS image generator, a GFC 700 autopilot, and a force feedback system to support realistic training. It is approved for PPL, CPL, and IR/SE instruction under EASA FNPT II, FAA AATD/FTD 5, and Transport Canada FTD Level 2 standards.
Captain Jose Sebastian, Compliance Monitoring Manager at Fujairah Aviation Academy, said: "The AL172 is an excellent fit for our single-engine training fleet and allows us to replicate our Cessna 172 environment with a very high level of fidelity, which is essential for ab-initio and instrument training,"
“The ALSIM Airliner simulator provides an advanced platform for MCC, jet orientation and airline-style procedures training. Its flexible configuration, high-quality visuals and robust instructor operating station support our goal of preparing cadets for a smooth transition to airline operations.
“In addition, ALSIM’s responsive technical support, comprehensive maintenance philosophy and continuous software/hardware upgrades were key factors in our decision, as they ensure long-term value and minimum downtime for our training programs.”
Audrey Jeffroy, Sales and Marketing Director at ALSIM, stated that Fujairah Aviation Academy has continued to expand its ALSIM fleet since 2006, noting that the new additions bring the total number of Airliner orders to 15 worldwide.
