Porter Airlines and Embraer CAE Training Services (ECTS) have expanded the airline’s pilot training operations with the deployment of a new Embraer E195-E2 full-flight simulator (FFS) at CAE’s Montreal training centre. ECTS, a joint venture between Embraer and CAE, began supporting training in May 2025. The CAE-built 7000XR Series simulator features the CAE Prodigy visual system and was developed and manufactured in Montreal. The local deployment allows more Porter pilots to complete training closer to home and supports ongoing fleet expansion and job growth in Canada.

Porter pilots will now receive initial and recurrent E195-E2 training in Montreal. This addition increases capacity for the airline’s pilot training program, helping meet the needs of its growing fleet. Porter has already received 46 E195-E2 aircraft, with as many as 100 planned.

The simulator’s Prodigy Image Generator leverages Epic Games’ Unreal Engine to create realistic training environments, enhancing learning and operational readiness.

The new Montreal-based simulator joins ECTS’s global E2 FFS network in Singapore and Madrid.
