BRUNNER is proud to announce it will feature the world’s first qualified Mixed Reality (MR) FNPT II flight simulator, the NOVASIM MR DA42, at the European Airline Training Symposium (EATS) in Cascais, Portugal, this November.
According to the company, this simulator sets a new standard for certified pilot training by achieving an official FNPT II qualification while merging aspects of virtual and physical training.
The NOVASIM MR DA42 provides a 360-degree virtual field of view and complete immersion alongside tactile, hands-on interaction with the real cockpit and physical flight controls.
The compact 6-degrees-of-freedom (6DoF) motion system provides the cues that lets students feel the aircraft naturally.
“Mixed reality allows pilots to complete entire flight sessions - from pre-flight checks and checklist execution to taxiing, takeoff, and landing - using natural, hands-on interaction with the real cockpit instruments.
"These capabilities go far beyond current FNPT and FTD devices, effectively defining a new class of simulators for the industry,” says BRUNNER CEO Roger Klinger.
The immersive MR experience is delivered through the Varjo XR-4 headset, which provides clarity, realism, and depth of perception. VARJO will join BRUNNER as an official partner at EATS, demonstrating how visual technology combines with Swiss engineering for pilot training.
Training organizations and industry leaders are invited to secure their place for an exclusive test flight session with the NOVASIM MR DA42 at EATS Cascais. Bookings can be made directly via the BRUNNER website.
