The AOPA Foundation is now accepting applications for its 2026 aviation scholarships, providing AOPA members with opportunities to pursue flight training, earn advanced ratings, or advance aviation careers. Thanks to donor support, the Foundation awards over $1 million each year to help members take the next step in their aviation journey. The fall 2025 application period runs from October 6 through December 31, 2025, with decisions sent by April 15, 2026. The spring 2026 application period will be open from April 1 through June 30, 2026, with decisions communicated by October 15, 2026.
Scholarship amounts range from $250 to $14,000. Specific opportunities include at least 90 scholarships of $12,000 for high school students aged 16 to 18 pursuing a private pilot certificate, and up to 20 scholarships of $12,000 for teachers using the AOPA You Can Fly curriculum to earn a private pilot certificate, with additional criteria applying.
